There is a person in my area that says that the use of humate on hay meadows will make more quantity and quality of hay. Up to 18% protien consistantly. Any comments or experiance with this product will be appreciated.

I use it. Sales people may try to get you to use 200-500 pounds per acre. I think less than 100 would work fine. How much is the person in your area using? I do not use the dry any more, To dusty. There are lots of testing going on. Do a search for Humic and/or Fulvic acid. Anything you can do to help rebuild your soil will benefit your crops.

Do you use a pasture sprayer to apply the liquid. How much is the cost per acre and where do you buy it.

Any spray rig will work fine. First application I would apply 1 quart/12% humic acid to the acre. 1 pint after each cutting. Tests have shown that more is not better. I would also mix 1/2 to 1 gallon of molasses per acre along with a liquid fert. If you decide to use dry, one application/year at 50/100# per acre.
