First off, I would like to say thank you all so very very much for the wonderful support you have given me these past few years with all of the turmoil we as a family have been going through . Your encouragement , support and advice is priceless , and I can never express into words as to how much this all has meant to me .

My niece Megan King headed to Toronto today after a clean bill of health from her doctors that she is clear to fly, the blood clots are under control and no longer life threatening .

She is competing in the Miss Teenage Canada Pageant representing our home town of Red Deer, Alberta , Canada. I ask of you to please vote for this amazing young lady that has been through more than some would be able to cope with these past few years , and come out strong, brave and the most loving ,gentle soul I know . Not only is she beautiful to look at but her inner beauty as a kind person shines through always , she is also an honor student, graduating grade 12 this year with her advanced diploma and hopes to attend university and study nuclear medicine .

Thank you Nesi ! When Megan was 11 she spent a week out here with me and helped during calving, it was a tough year as we had something viral go through the calves . She stayed with me and worked by my side for all hours, very early mornings and into the late night . Usually carrying my big medicine kit while I hauled IV's and bottles of electrolytes . She never once complained or whined about it .
She is a tough girl , some might say she takes after her Aunt ;-)

She got the VIP treatment today from the wonderful flight crew at West Jet . Also her flight was supplied by a sponsor as the girls needed to fund raise to come up with money to pay for flights , hotel rooms and of course their gowns . Family and friends were Megan's main sponsors as well as a few local ag businesses .

I voted... with both of my email addys. I think it was when I was about 13 we had scours to no end around here, I know what that's like!.. No fun at all, lost a couple (we only had 15 calves or so, not 150), and have vaccinated every year since with only very rare occurrences since.

Today they were doing a photo shoot . She is having so much fun , and is making some wonderful new friends too. Her roommate is Miss Southern Ontario and she also lost her dad at a young age too , they have a lot in common besides sharing such a traumatic event and are becoming swift friends .

However this turns out I am so very proud of her , she is a very courageous young woman . So many changes in her life these past few years yet she has still stayed the same wonderful person inside that I have known and loved since she was a little girl .
