I am my daughters biggest fan. She is a freshman and is one of 3 freshman that made the varsity squad.

Sorry, if I sound like I'm bragging, I'm just very proud of her commitment.

She and the other 2 freshman will be starting on the JV squad, and playing up to 3 quarters, so they have 1 quarter available for the varsity game.

This is new to me, so will see how it goes. They also practice with the varsity squad, but then are expected to play with the jv. I wonder how the mesh will be at the time... same plays/concepts are taught, starting in youth league so they will be on the same page there.

It will be interesting. 1st game is coming up on Tuesday, and they are practicing today... Saturday. And if I know my daughter, she will want me to take a car load of girls up to the YMCA tomorrow so they can play ball together, there they like to play ball against guys, they don't care if they get their butts whopped, these girls just like to play against a higher skill level that where they are.

That's great dedication and I applaud her commitment. Especially if she is enjoying her time with her team mates. Keep everyone posted on their season. Have a good time as she grows through her high school career it will be over before you know it. Good luck to her team (s).- JLP

Three freshman playing that much is purty strong.

I a'int never seen that happen much.

Congrats.

That's great, Michele! We had band, cross country, and track when our boys were growing up. Did us all a lot of good. Another 8-10 years and the grandkids will be starting up. Wish your daughter well for me. Win or lose, she'll look back on these days with fondness.

ohn Wooden has said he would rather watch womens basketball because they play better fundamentals

How true. Not nearly the amount of showboating in girls basketball. I like to watch a good game with the fundamentals being used, not the chimpanzee style...

That's just great Michele, congrats to her for her hard work. I know that in this area it is very uncommon for freshmen to play varsity. Best of luck to her on a successful season.

Thanks everyone for support and wishes for my daughter and her team! Will keep posting on their season!
