If you need to ship heavy items, like engines, here's an economical option.

The company most think of as a bolt supplier also has a 3rd party shipping co. Fastenall. When you ship, you need to take the item to the nearest Fastenall location and the other party picks up the item at their nearest fastenall location. This slight inconvenience will save a lot of money.

I wish I could figure out a way to get an 800 pound gun safe delivered that doesn't cost almost a third the price of the safe.

If you know the weight and the zip code, call and get a quote. They are not real particular on the exact weight. Put it on a pallet is the main thing. It's the only way they have to load and off load.

You get a long enough pallet, wrap the safe to keep it from scratches, strap it to the pallet with some of those cheap motorcycle straps.
