Hello - I'm new to this website and would appreciate some advice on land lending for cattle.
I own +/- 200 acres of undeveloped land outside of Jacksonville, FL and would like to lease the land for cattle grazing. Traditionally, the primary income generator for the property has been timber but I'd like to bring in an operator mainly to reside, maintain and use the land for cattle. The property is fenced on all sides (some areas are worse off than others but there is a fence) and dense with trees, etc. It (the property) is bound by a dirt road to the south, a busy two laned road to the west, a small residential neighborhood to the north and heavy timber to the east. I'm happy to have the land prepped and ready but not sure what efforts are really necessary to solicit operators. If I can reduce my involvement and cost, all the better. Any advice on how to begin?? How much this would cost me??
