How to be a rancher ( language )

overkill on the wire gate (gap) chain thingie, but I'm guessing he has more $$ to spend than I do.
But he's right--I truly hate it when someone just throws the dang thing off to the side and tangles it all up.

I have a wire gate and it's tight
Takes about all I have to get it closed.
Came home one day and saw someone had opened and drug it open like the video instead of dropping it and driving over it like I do.
There was a note from the tax appraisal lady on my door.
She must be a stout lady cause she got the gate closed when she left

I did get a chuckle. Seems any time we have company from out of town that want to "help" and invariably shut themselves inside the pasture when they close the gate. I don't say anything, just wait until they realize what they just did. And we recently had a bred heifer out wandering along the road because the idiots working on the oil well left the gate wide open (same idiots that watched the tornado destroy our barnyard).

I had to laugh and yeah, the language was a little much; although I think he probably just had an issue with a "moron" that let the cows get out.. :o :o :o ..Since it seems that there are just too many people who won't shut the gate after they go through it I can sympathize. Used to be COMMON SENSE prevailed, but today you have to tell people to put the gate back the way they found it. :bang: :bang: :bang: And if you are dumb enough to close yourself on the wrong side of the metal/steel gate, at least climb over it on the HINGE end....  .

I never drive over a wire gate.. that said I also don't tangle them up either.

Best laugh we ever had was when a city slicker came and offered to open the gate for us.. Opening it was fine, but we were watching him trying to close it in the rear view mirror, trying to figure out the stick on the chain.. Hilarious doesn't even begin to cover how funny it was!

Never seen one of those fancy wire gate latches before.
Interesting, it and variations of it are very common out here.

Peoples too uppity around here to use wire gates anymore. Got to have those painted gates.
