This is obviously not going to be popular.
> 1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
Let me guess, you would be in the wealthy catagory? In 1960, the top tax rate was 91%. In 1980 it was 70%. 50% in 1986. 39.6% in 2000. now it's 35%. While you can't legislate the wealthy out of prosperity, you can absolutely legislate them into obscene wealth.
> 2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
Great for print but doesn't address what the elected officials had to do with creating their obscene wealth.
> 3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
And the wealthy can't become so without the one-sided assistance of our elected officials. The legislature had more to do with creating their wealth than their own labor.
> 4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
You can't have infrastructure, power grids, Dams, roads, exotic vehicles, or even plastic without taxes. Funny how I was researching moving to another country, I found out that I am still required to pay american taxes on my "world-wide" income. Yet we have the wealthy trying to bring in their "world-wide" profits into our country and they are asking for a 15% tax rate on that profit. Apparently you have no idea what equal means.
> 5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
Cute but totally, 100% BS. How many new jobs have the ultra rich created in the last 5 years? How many new jobs were created by the Financial bailout as was promised? How many jobs have those ultra rich send overseas?
When the top 1% collect more than 50% of all the profits since 1993, and we have lost the number of jobs we have, doesn't it seem less than honest to blame the people who end up unemployed because of the Ultra-Rich?
Perhaps we need new legislation to institutionalize everyone who is poor, disabled, ill or elderly. Exactly how did that turn out when Hitler did it?
I notice no ultra-rich moving to other countries where they don't have to pay taxes. Perhaps it's because those countries don't offer the benefits we do? I agree with you. I feel sorry for the ultra-rich for their difficult lives because of all those powerful poor people. I also see no opposition for Farm Subsidies.
Sorry but I'm poor and I work my ars off everyday. Mostly to pay for what the ultra-rich refuse to pay for.
