1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them,
and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work,
because somebody else is going to get what they work for,
that is the beginning of the end of any nation. :help:

Let me guess, you would be in the wealthy catagory? In 1960, the top tax rate was 91%. In 1980 it was 70%. 50% in 1986. 39.6% in 2000. now it's 35%. While you can't legislate the wealthy out of prosperity, you can absolutely legislate them into obscene wealth.

> 2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

Great for print but doesn't address what the elected officials had to do with creating their obscene wealth.

> 3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

And the wealthy can't become so without the one-sided assistance of our elected officials. The legislature had more to do with creating their wealth than their own labor.

> 4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

You can't have infrastructure, power grids, Dams, roads, exotic vehicles, or even plastic without taxes. Funny how I was researching moving to another country, I found out that I am still required to pay american taxes on my "world-wide" income. Yet we have the wealthy trying to bring in their "world-wide" profits into our country and they are asking for a 15% tax rate on that profit. Apparently you have no idea what equal means.

Cute but totally, 100% BS. How many new jobs have the ultra rich created in the last 5 years? How many new jobs were created by the Financial bailout as was promised? How many jobs have those ultra rich send overseas?

When the top 1% collect more than 50% of all the profits since 1993, and we have lost the number of jobs we have, doesn't it seem less than honest to blame the people who end up unemployed because of the Ultra-Rich?

Perhaps we need new legislation to institutionalize everyone who is poor, disabled, ill or elderly. Exactly how did that turn out when Hitler did it?

I notice no ultra-rich moving to other countries where they don't have to pay taxes. Perhaps it's because those countries don't offer the benefits we do? I agree with you. I feel sorry for the ultra-rich for their difficult lives because of all those powerful poor people. I also see no opposition for Farm Subsidies.

Sorry but I'm poor and I work my ars off everyday. Mostly to pay for what the ultra-rich refuse to pay for.

Don't worry too much about that, I tend to agree with most of your points and I'm sure there will be others. How would you propose moving away from capitalism? It may have worked well 30/40 years ago but it is not anymore.

I am not sure that we have "capitalism" now. I though that capitalism was pro free trade, and worked where those with a compatative addvantage got the work. Not it seams that the big multinationals use goverments to prevent fair compatition from smaller opperations.

When I was working for a big company my costs were much higher than they would have been had I been on my own. However we sold from one big company to another and those other companies would not give market access to others as this may erode their own possition. O and if you are a small company you do not have the big company expense account to wine and dine.....

so in your world it's the as you stated "ultra rich" thats the problem
not the plus 50 % of people that pay no tax what so ever but the "ultra wealthy" that do pay a 40 plus percent of the entire tax burden. :D
i work and pay taxes, you work and pay taxes, lots of people work and pay taxes, but there is a growing percentage that doesn't pay any tax.
i don't feel like the lack of tax revenue is the biggest problem but rather the government spending/waste and free handouts to people that don't need or don't deserve it.

i started not to respond but thought why not, you have your opinion and have mine.
hope you get plenty of rain, sushine,a healthy calf crop and something smile about everyday.

I can tell you from experience I for one cut my crew over the last 3 years... from 18 guys to 3 and cut my gross sales from 1.2 mil. To under 250 k .. I now bring home around 50 k a year the main reason was I was paying to much in taxes and its like the old saying goes if you can't beat them join them .... it sucks but I'm tired of trying to become rich and having my hard earned money given to people that refuse to work.

Well at least you escaped from the dreaded "ultra rich" category. and those 15 people you cut are now recipients of the greatest stimulus in history........see now everybody is happy.

The truth hurts, this goverment needs to stop wasting tax payers money. Everyone that has worked legally in this country has paid taxes. Now their talking about having to cut S.S. to balance the budget. This goverment needs to cut welfare, foodstamps, and medicaid. Most of the people recieving these entitlement programs have not worked, or worked very little. Please don't penalize me because I pay taxes. If you can't feed them don't breed them. Someday the deadbeats are going to starve.

Unfortunatly cutting their benefits doesn't work as they just go on the rob, they will never work as that means they have to do something for what they get.
there was a joke going around at the time of our recent riots, 'The police in their helicopters managed to get rid of the rioters in a few minutes, they dropped job applications on the crowd'
