How old before Brahman bull starts breeding cattle

I was told by a Brahma breeder they needed to be around 2 . She said they were late maturing. She raised registered grey and reds .

How old is this "long yearling"? Unless he is 18 mos now, he might not do you much good this spring. What kind of cows you have?

He is around 22 mos. and was going to put him on a set of black cows.

If he's fertile, 22 months old now, doesn't need a step ladder to service your cows, and he's interested in being a bull... you should be good to go.

Well from that he should be good to go. The scrotal measurement is part of the BSE and should be on his certificate from the Vet.
