How much expansion ?

With approximately 30 acres open for pasture for a herd of 15 fall bred cows. I'm thinking max at about 22, if I can get an adjacent 40 for winter pasture till about march, which would be close to weaning. Of course realizing fertility and possibility of drought conditions . Your thoughts ? In ne oklahoma/nw arkansas.

I don't think I would let it go that far, but that is a concern in a drought year as stated.

Max number of cows is different than max profit per acre. Max number of cows lead to more inputs and more drought risk and more overgrazing...

Look up some of the stocking rate work done at U of Kentucky.
