How long should I wait?

How long should I wait after I fertilize my pasture with 20-10-15 to put the cows back?
We should be getting some rain real soon. If not I'll make it "rain". I was gonna try for 2 weeks.

I usually cover my broadcast fertilizer either with rain within a day or two (when forecasters are correct) or harrow over it. Cows only have one set of teeth and can't eat dirt like sheep, goats, and horses, so I don't have them wait....sometimes I have to go around them when broadcasting and they get hit with it....I do worry about eyes when they are around...don't want any getting there.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Didn't want them eating any, supposed to rain pretty good this week. The compost we spread a week ago is greening things up, the fertilizer should be better.

We never move cattle for fertilizing or spraying 2-4 D

I do worry about their eyes, but I've spread commercial, and litter with them in the field

As long as there aren't any clumps of fertilizer, mainly nitrogen, it shouldn't be an issue.
