I planted some wheat in one pasture and ryegrass in another,
How long should I wait before I can begin grazing it?

Usually takes mine 30-45 days to get big enough. Depends on moisture too though.

I planted Sept 15 and plan to turn the ladies in on a time limited basis (1 hour per day) starting around Nov. 1.

I just wait till it's 6 inches high, doesn;t matter if it's grass or WW.

dun

I have always been told, if you can't pull out the roots when you pull some up, then its ready for grazing. And thats usually around 5-6 inches normally.

Yep,

And don't put them in if the field is muddy; they will not only trample but will make it easier for the plants to be pulled up root and all.

Thanks CB,,,,My Grand Dad taught me a few things anyway. My rye is up about 2 inches now and I plan to put a few ton of liter out when we get some rain again.
