How long after spreading lime...

Help Support CattleToday:

Because it can case imflamation of mucus membranes I try to keep them off till after a rain. But there is no other reason for keeping them off. Even many grain mixtures have ground limestone in them so it won;t hurt them feed wise.

I don't even take mine off the pasture when putting out lime. They do fine. Put it out when they are up in the trees so you don't sling it in thier eyes or run over one.

I have not had one run over yet but with the COOP drivers being teenage boys I have to remind them to watch for calves. Those boys stay on the phone with girls all the time texting and whatever.
