........that you can swing a gate open and it will stay right there all day--no matter what--till you get ready to drive thru it, and in a seemingly dead calm, be slowly blown shut or up against the side of your moving vehicle?

I've had 'em close in defiance of gravity when they were sagging and normally WANTED to stay open.
Can they think and see you coming............or what?
Possessed?
Just mean, non-sentient, normally in-animate objects gone wild?

I've had it happen way too many times in my life for it to just be a coincidence..

Why is it that a gate that you open, "place" in the closed position (so it looks shut) will stay there all day if you stand next to it yet never touch it, but the second you walk away from it------it swings open?

As for your conundrum Greybeard----who knows, I've had it happen many times, and usually on the coldest darn day of the year (no cab on our tractor) and I just want to get out there and drop the bale and get back.
