How do I kill Bambo0

We had it in a couple of pastures in california. Tried everything I could think of to kill it. Finally just accepted it as a fast growing grass that the cows loved to eat when it was young and short.

I think Dun has the best idea. Bush hog it to get it short and the cows will do the rest.

Once again we get a first timer who wants help but does not disclose where he/she is.

Go to the user control panel and follow the steps to list your general location. Then someone in your area MAY have an answer for you

What spray works for bamboo? Trying to reclaim some pasture ground.
I don't know what spray kills it.....how much of it do you have? I would try to sell it first around here.

We have what we call "cane". It is a variety of bamboo, but has always been called cane around here. It grows really fast but bushhogging will keep it under control. If left alone it will grow 10 to 20 ft. Alot of folks harvest it for fishing poles or to put in the garden for pole beans to run on. It also makes a great duck blind.

Oh yea, I forgot to add that it makes a great whistle. One of the first things you learn to make with it when your a kid.

I had to get rid of 2 acres i cut it short and then used my graded box and teeth and plucked them out of the ground... be careful bamboo loves spearing tractor tires...

Only seen one small tract of it over in East Texas. Dang stuff was big enough to use for corner posts. Probably took a dozer to clear it out IF they ever cleared it.

Velpar-L works pretty good on it but it requires rainfall and best put out in the spring. I've found clumps of bamboo are great targets to run a head fire into to break the monotony of a controlled burn. Kinda like the 4th.

Nothing at all wrong with puttin' a little excitement into a controlled burn.
