Need a lot more info - age, sex, job, background and family will have a bearing on it.

Eyes mostly. It also reveals if the person is serious or just trying to jerk your chain with humor.

Inconsistency or lack of common logic - if I am interested in the subject or story.

Qualifying statements or being on the defensive for no apparent reason.

History.

if he claims to be a hollywood talent scout, or a texas oilman, or a racecar driver, or a CIA operative, or............

i have bit on so many lies in my life that I don't believe nothing anymore.

People will lie to you today about stuff that don't even matter.

I am getting to be like the old song.....

don't believe nothing I hear and only half of what I see.

I work in a an office with a bunch of folks who all say they never tell a lie....and it is a lie....they lie to and for one another all day long.

The guy we bought this farm from was one of those types. Everytime he told you something it was different. He just didn;t believe that the truth should get in the way of a good story or a possible sale

I have had people look me straight in the eye and tell me a bold faced lie that I knew was a lie and they showed no signs of lying.

I ain't Doctor Phil.....I am just a beat up old cowboy....

I first determine .....Is this important to me? If not I ignore it anyway.....If it is then I will check it out other ways....

I guess it is one reason I don't have but a couple of friends....cause i don't trust anyone til they earn my trust. very few are able to do it these days.

It will be rather difficult to look a person in the eyes if you are online with him/her :)

Sometimes you don't have to be looking a person in the eye. If you just sit and read long enough both of those variables could easily apply here.

The story is-that our neighbor who's land is next to ours, moved to TX, and got a renter in there now, to rent the house and has the hunting rights there. He has deer stands and cameras all over the place now. he came by last weekend,to see if we were going to cut anymore of the hay over there-anyways I think he is to say the least a over exaggerater, but who knows? He says he is a professional hunter, LEASES 200,000 acres in CO and TX, some of HIS land burnt, has 4 homes there. he use to drive a Hummer, but said he had to trade it in because it got bad gas mileage, bought this new truck he was driving(only it wasn't new) he is paying an outrageous sum for rent and hunting rights(if its true) plus now he is getting sued by our neighbor for not paying the rent-(so how can he own 4 homes and lease all that land)Plus he slammed our neighbor-he isn't an easy person to deal with, its true he can be a pain-but this guy was just saying-oh the old man, he doesn't scare me-I deal with famous people all the time, then went on to say how he may get Craig Morgan to come out and hunt there (even though-he swears he is the only one who will be hunting there) as its he who has hunting rights-no one else.Plus he put in feed plots on some of the fields, said our neighbor would never know, he does not have use of the land, only hunting rights-I'm not getting involved but I do worry about this guy, as I have dairy cows, baby calves, etc.. and I don't want some crazy guy bringing people in and hunting all over-if thats his plan-if any thing he said is even true.
I put up signs on the top, and painted trees, we have a freind who we let hunt on our place, and made it clear to this guy, we did not want him on our land-maybe he will get evicted by then-Anyways thats the story-I think he is full of it-what do you all think?
