I am having problems with flies this year. This year they are not horn flies(its a miracle) they appear to be house flies. They are just around the nose and the corner of the eyes. Is this because those areas are moist and the flies are attracted to it, and are they actually house flies or some other kind? Also how do I treat them. I am using Ultra Boss for the horn flies but it seems to have little or no affect on the other flies.

Blue,
Check these out. They may help you identify the flies you are dealing with.

We use Ectiban pour on insecticide as a spray mixed with #2 diesel and it takes care of them all. A gallon jug is $16.50 and you mix it at a rate of 1 pint to 1 gallon of diesel.
(Back rub use)

face flies. they feed on the secretion from the eyes and nose and transmitt pink eye

Thanks SL
They appear to be the aptly named face fly. The info was very useful. I have not been pouring anything down the face but stopping at the shoulder.

are those crumbles anything similar to IGR products. Do you use them only during fly season? Who makes them? Thanks!
