What....they aren't bringing that kind of money in your neck of the woods?

Not saying I'd pay that....I'm not buying F1 Brafords, but it's a price that has been hit for outstanding quality at the local replacement sales. Not all that unusual lately. What does astound me are the parents that plop down $2500 a head for a pen of 5, then feed the hell out of them in hopes of selling a pen of 3 to Grandpa for big money at a show.....

Not so many are doing that since prices jumped and folks pocketbooks have shrunk. Our commercial heifer show numbers dropped last year. Many kids did it because all entries sell, but last year parents told me that they couldn't do it anymore. Cattle prices were too high and they couldn't risk the money. The ones that raise their own continue to show.

I didn't mean to imply there aren't any fools in Oklahoma. :D Not saying they aren't nice, just not worth it.

They are a handful for most people and pricey (and the fools wouldn't be unique to Oklahoma)....but they make on heck of a mama cow. They do have their disasters just the same.

150 lb. calf max.....doubt they would bring over $1500 around here. Nothing special about them especially being so young. Already some long bags and jerked up light quarters.
