How many producers would consider raising livestock as an absentee care giver in a HOSTILE environment that leads to questionable care of the animals? If this is something you would consider doing, would you consider yourself a steward of animal husbandry? Sitting thru auctions I have witnessed first hand the aftermath of absentee producers, As a producer myself I also know that things can go terribly bad for animals in less than 1 hour. But it seems to me if you are not there to provide care for a week or two who is?

You're probably right. I fixed it and its not an issue. And it was only one. You killed how many? 250 I think you said. And you were right there. What did you do to prevent their deaths? Mr experienced producer who will forget more than ill ever know? Guess you forgot to provide shade in that dirt lot. How big was that check you said?

So is someone who runs cattle on leased goverment land thats in 4000 acre peices, and no way in the world could check there cattle every day, putting them in a hostile enviroment.
Here is my .02 and last post. There are people who look at their cattle every day and abuse them. They constantly do things flat out wrong. There are people who look at their cattle once a month that provide for and raise great livestock.
Hows that saying go? You can't argue with stupid people because they bring you down to their level and then beat you because they're better at it. ;-)

My 2 cents and my one and only post on this subject is that you should never come tour ranches in the west. There are lots and lots of places where cows get turned out on 50,000-100,000 acres in May and some of them are not seen again until October or November. And some of them you never do see again.
