We have Horned Herefords and do not slope their horns. I guess if you want to be PC, you could say that we do things the "heritage" way. But actually, change comes slow to our outfit because the way we do things has been successful for a long time.
The reason for this post is that I can no longer find Teco horn weights. I know Teco has gone out of business but I was hoping that someone had a box of hornweights that they had stashed somewhere that they would like to sell. I just ordered forty pair of Stone weights and do not like them. They are wider across than the Teco weights and I swear the hole is smaller and the prong is shorter. We just weighted a bunch of bull calves today and getting those Stone weights to fit properly was almost impossible.
I couldn't figure out why they lost so many weights last year so I decided to see for myself today. I was sure they were putting them on wrong. They weren't but in order to get the sides to come together and so that you can still see "daylight", you had to put those stone weights almost hanging off the end of the horn.
Just let me know, I will buy any number of weights you have that are Teco. Half pound, three quarter, and pound. I would take some one and a half but they are pretty wide but right now I am not picky!~
If this post is against the rules, I am sorry in advance. I just can't find them anywhere! Thanks for your help!
