Has anyone here put up or used the hoop beef system. It has made quite a few papers around here and seems quite popular. It seems rather inexpensive and a lot more manageable than mounds.

Could you explain exactly what the hoop beef system is?

I am picturing a confined feedlot that is using hoop buildings, am I correct?

Yes it is using hoop buildings with the feed bunks on the south side of the building. They use cornstalks for bedding and since it is all indoors there is no run off from the lot. They come in links from 200-600 ft in length. and can hold from 200-600 cattle. They come in a kit with waterers, pens, bunks, building and everything you need to erect it. They said it costs about $210 a head to build one.

I was wanting to know if anyone has one and what they think of them. I was thinking of putting one up. If the market completely falls out of feeders we can still use the building for Cow/calf, and for hay storage.

They look Interesting. Tell the Company to send you some address of poeple who have them. If there any good they send you a referal. I'm thinking of putting one up to store round bales.
