Just wondering what to do. Noticed a 6 yr old cow having a crack on the top of her hoof by hairline. Crack is on front hoof along the side. Yes she is limping. Dont know if she got it caught in the fence or what. Any suggestion?

If she's able to graze and get back and forth to water, wait a few days and see if it improves. I've had several do it and get over it. A couple I put them in the chute and cut off the broken part.

We had one this spring with the most severe vertical crack on the front of her hoof that I've seen in years. She limped around for a couple weeks and lost some condition, you wouldn't know it now.
