About 40 minutes ago I was on a main commuter road just south of Olympia (state capital). Parked along the left side of the road was about 6 vehicles of different descriptions. A few flashing lights but not on all of them. As I am approaching I am thinking accident or broke down car. As I go by them I see about 20-25 assorted people and over half are dressed in camo and armed to the teeth. All of them appear to have HSI on their back. HSI? Homeland Security?
I wonder if things are so dangerous that you need a M-16 packing assault team why is the road open to the public? Why is there not a single local law enforcement person present? I really don't like the idea of any law enforcement within this country that looks like a military assault team.

From what I can read HSI is Homeland Security Investigations and what you're seeing may be what they call a "Raid Uniform". Never found any pics though.

I saw the same deal on a dairy about five years ago. I saw a bunch of headlights pull in the front drive and go to the commodity barn at about 3 AM. I drove over to see what the problem was and was held up by a guy in camo with a badge standing next to a plain suburban holding a shotgun. They were in and out in about five minutes and left a message on the office phone that the feeder would not be coming back to work. There were no lights, sirens, all of the cars were plain old junkers. I had to look pretty hard at the badge to make sure they guy wasn't getting kidnapped.

We have more than our share of SS alphabet gestapo agencies that need to go away.

I saw what I thought was the military early one morning in Carnegie Ok gather at the local convenience store
They raided some Indian land that was a grow plot for marihuana
They had a big gathering and meeting in the parking lot about 6:30 or 7:00
They made the raid at around 9:00 or so and no one was there to arrest
They pulled and bagged the plants and left
Big write up in a the paper about a bust bust
They were armed to take over Iraq though

I honesty believe in my children's lifetime, the US military will be atleast partially responsible for keeping the peace here on US soil. I also believe that are freedoms will slowly diminish over time. We will move slowly, like hogs to slaughter closer and closer to a socialist/communist society. I hope I'm wrong.

Yep and the masses welcome it as they think the government will take care of them and they will not have the responsibilities of life.
