The local sale barn here that has a dairy sale every week, springers were off about $500. Some of that may be do to quallity, but price is down. I hear they are going to open the Canadian border again.

Well I'd hope they aren't dropping too much or for too long. Nearly my entire herd is holstein nurse cows or holstein heifers. If worse comes to worse I do have a back-up plan though, and I know I can raise them pretty cheap anyways.
It always seemed to me when the price of milk drops the price of replacements stayed high because most thought the answer was to add cows. Sometime its the only way to prolong the agony.
Glover36, I don't have any facts about opening the border for dairy replacements in sept. Just farmers talking. Thats why I asked you. But I do think its coming soon.
it better come lol or this whole country will kill its agriculture so many huge dairy farms around here have went out because they cant make money and quota is hitting 30k
