Only 16,478,326 more to go. Got one sow Saturday morning. The herd had just came out of one of my hay fields after digging it up. I had several of them lined up but by the time I got my rifle and loaded it ( ) there was only the one sow out in the open. Too bad.

I carry a rifle in the truck and then on the tractor when I get on it. I do this every day. If I ever miss a day thats when every animal around goes dumb and just stands there in a wide open field.

They have a sixth sense when it comes to knowing a rifle is around. Like Kenny Sid, they will stare you down when you don't have a gun. When you do have one, they are running as soon as they see you.

Good deal, did you do anything with it or just leave?
While cutting hay yesterday i was wondering...We have one hay field that has never been rutted up. All around it it has, but this hay field is prairie grass, or what its always been called. Its the last native grass field around. I've always wondered why and that maybe its the type of grass they dont like. Anywho, as i was checking cows through a sea of bahia grass that has decided to take over our whole ranch, i noticed that there are no new ruts and haven been in areas now covered in this grass.. Bahia has a thick layer of rough roots that maybe pigs dont like. When we moved here the fields were sage grass and the pigs have wiped it out, which is a good thing.
Has anyone else noticed grasses pigs dont like?

I'm guessing a cab tractor?
I have been wanting to get a rigid scabbard to mount on the fender of my non cab tractor for my old SKS, but haven't found one that would easily mount and keep the dust out too.

My BIL has a trap, has caught 15 in the last 2 weeks. Brings his total to 83-84 over the last year or so. These last 15 probably averaged around 100 lbs. He is still seeing tracks going across the road since the last bunch were caught so we know there are more. They seem to move around quite a bit. He will not see anything for awhile and then all of a sudden he will start seeing tracks again. It seems if you shoot 1 or 2 they will disappear for several months and then come back.

Yep a couple of years ago I was drilling oats a female coyote stopped and took a leak about 20ft in front of the tractor then was in no hurry to get out of the field.
