high school football players take out the ref

Yep and they both need to be tossed out for at least the rest of the season if not for the rest of their high school years.

Maybe the coach that "allowed" it needs to be tossed also!

I bet the coach didn't know. Not saying is right but would be interesting how the game was being called. I have known several players to go after refs if they felt the ref was doing a bad job. A few years ago a ref made several really bad calls. The QB had his WR run a crossing route and nailed the ref in his private area. Seen a WR and a LB sandwich a ref. you watch enough ball games and you see this happen a few times a year. I will admit never seen it so blatantly.

One news source says it was retaliation for ejection of 2 other players...very disturbing. Referee involved may file criminal charges...

If you take time to read the article you would know the coach was unaware thus was going to happen. I must say I was impressed at how quickly the ref picked himself up. He's a fairly tough bird himself.

Those kids should never play High School football again. The school should forfeit its 2015 schedule, and some games in 2016. I've been mad at refs myself, but that has to be severely punished.

The two kids should never play high school football again, be suspended from school for a while and face charges. Folks say part of high school sports is teaching life lessons, a lesson needs to be taught.

Also, you boys in Texas do take your high school football serious, don't you? :hide:

Absolutely but that's not football. That's more like thuggery that would happen in a alley. Their dad's should be waiting for them when they walk in the house and teach them a few things. (if they have dads)

They have dad's unless their test tube babies. Mom probably used sperm donors so without DNA testing, establishing who their fathers are is nearly impossible.

Why should the forfeit games why punish the players who had nothing to do with this? Punish the two guys involved and be done with it.

I have seen some dads at high school games who would probably congradulate their sons for that. Their are some parents who get a bit crazy at games. I heard one parent scream that if the ref made another bad call he was going to come on the field and kick his butt ( those were not his words but if I used his words I would get banned.). We wonder why these kids act like this they learn it from their parents a lot of times.

We've all got a few of those. Fortunately they are in the minority. But it's their choice to be like the parent if they do.

BTW they got beat...they didn't forfeit.

Immediate and permanent ban from all sports.... absolutely no reason for that. I hope that ref files criminal charges, sues their butts... and they should have turn around while he knocks the crap out of them from behind.

I have no problem with retaliation... but going at people from behind is cowardly. Walk up to them, look them in the eye so each of you know where the other stands... and strap it on.

the two kids who did it though, that needs to be the end of their football career.

Where I disagree you can bet that culture and thinking is alive and well in that program.
I would give the HS football program the death sentence for two years to send a message across the state and program.

The thing about this that gets me is that there were two kids with the same action. The fact that there were two says that there is some sort of conspiracy. Who brought it up? They didn't both decide to do this independently and just happen to take action on the same play. I am thinking that shutting down football and maybe all sports at this school for a year or two would send a pretty loud message about sportsmanship.
Back in the spring there was that catcher on a girls team who cheap shot a couple runners as they came across the plate. Both that incident and this one took place in Texas. Do I see a pattern developing?

Not even close to the same situation.

They need to make the coach kick the kids off the team. That way if he is in on it they will squeal in a heart beat on him.

You can't punish the whole team for what 2 kids did.

Oh yes you can! That is the problem with the current generation.
Kill the program IMO.
Total lack of respect for authority what next shooting cops in the back while filling up
