How long do you need to feed Hi Mag minerals before putting cows on lush grazing. I've heard anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks to "you don't even need them". I've been waiting 2-3 weeks. Just wondering what those with more experience had to say.

A week or 2 is all we do it for. Then a couple of weeks after we turn them in we stop feeding it.

This want answer your question, but the first couple mowings of my yard, the grass has a weird texture. When I mow, and it doesn't have that texture, I stop. So you see, it's simple and scientific all at the same time.

I start about 2 to 3 weeks prior, then keep them on it for about a week or so after the last full flush in the fall. And what I mean by the last flush, is that last time the grass decides to one more spurt of growth.

That's what works for me.

Thanks to all. What I've been doing (2-3 weeks before grazing and then 1-3 weeks more) is working I just wanted some more input. Looks like this is the general consensus.
