There are a number of Hereford ranches in Kansas. Several of them seem to be highly regarded in AHA circles. Some of them have some impressive data. I want to submit a few of them to you for evaluation since you live in the state. I'd like to know if you were aware of them, what you think of them, etc.
The first is M-M Ranch of Chanute, Kansas. Website, http://www.mmherefords.com In the big Hereford World July reference issue, they have the results of their 2004 spring GOP results from North Platte Feeders. GOP, if I recall correctly, stands for "Genetic Outreach Program," and is a provides a way for various sire groups to be evaluated against each other in the feedlot. Their results were an ADG of 4.9#, with a feed conversion of 4.35. Cost of gain, $0.40. Test average was 4.0, 5.22, $0.47, respectively.
Another is EE Ranches of Fall River, a Line One outfit.
Also, Sandhill Farms of Haviland http://www.sandhillfarms.com, Ochsner Herefords of St. Franciswww.ochsnerherefords.com, Douthit Herefords of St. Francis, and Towner Farm of Girard.
