I lived in company housing - can't remember the name - Northern Light Lodge?

Thompson turkeys crowing in the day time all over town.

Scaling and rock bolting.

They had me on the 12 inch scoop tram for almost two months before I actually started drilling - to this day I hate using a long handled shovel!

Did not mind the job at all - it paid well at the time.

When I moved on over to potash I ended up on an ST-8. Now THAT's a big machine. When I tucked into a pile, you knew I was about to start moving product. Hard to believe how much power one of those scoops had - and an 8 yard bucket really does make things happen.

But I still prefer the out doors.

.That is about the size of the stopes at Rod.Except the hanging wall leaned right over..Hard on the back,but the money was good :lol:

As I recall there were about 20 men to every female In thompson in the late 60s and early 70s AND not all of them were pretty-But was a good time. and Id do it all again: there was hardly anyone in that town who had grey hair back then.
