How much rain is it dropping across Texas and southern Oklahoma?

We're currently getting a much needed soaking here in Stephenville. We're supposed to get about 5 inches overnight tonight.

Our promised 4 - 8 is now revised to 3-5. Only that is probably a lie too. 1.2 inches so far. Have had a steady 15 mph wind for a while.

The eye of the storm held together better overnight and it tracked about 30 miles east of what they were expecting. It stopped raining here at about 3 AM when it was supposed to rain all night. It looks like Waco north to the DFW metroplex ended up getting the most of the rain.

I'm sure thankful for what we got!

Yeah, better than normal. Already got more out of this one than we did out of 3 in 2008. Still, it does little to inspire you to keep the shoulder down.

Right at an inch here so far, which is good. Looks like we are too far west to get the big totals. I am please with an inch and maybe another .5 inch to come. Helps my pastures and makes it where the wheat farmers can get in their fields in a few days after the storm passes.

Our weather was saying 4-8 yesterday. Glad we missed that.

MY daughter just got a call from one of the college kids who live on the ranch. He had a low tire and stuck his pickup trying to get to the shop to air it up. That means we got more rain than I thought! :D It also means I don't need to even try to check on the cows for a few days - unless I want to walk in to see them.

so are the farmers grazing winter wheat down there or have the conditions been right for it....

Always some grazing, of course with wheat prices what they are now the farmers are getting dollar signs in their eyes (will they ever learn?) and want too much to graze it or will not graze it.

Too early for wheat planting here in the middle of the state. Probably another 2-3 weeks. But they'll graze then if it's not too wet or too dry. :lol2:

we are getting some rain.TB we used to always dry our wheat in by sept 15th.an always no later than oct 1st.

Just a guess but I was thinking we would only get another 1/2 inch today, but I bet it has been an inch so the grand total is probably at 2 - 2.5 inches.

Just RIGHT. Guess we got lucky on this one. Need rain and got it, but not so much as to disrupt things.
