Shortferds?

The first one's dam is a solid blue roan Shorthorn x Black Angus and sired by a Hereford

The second is out of a Red Baldy cow Red Angus x Hereford, sired by Hereford.

The third is out of a Hereford marked cow, Hereford x Simm sired by a Black Angus x Simmental bull.

The first one was the biggest surprise, especially since she was supposed to be bred to the Black Angus x Simm bull.

Herefords are the prettiest cows in my opinion, these crosses are marked well. That third one with the red eyes is built very nicely, long, low, and heavy. That's how I like 'em! (Im talkin about cows)

the 1st 2 would pass for herefords. top one had some bad front legs though. bottom one looks like a cross.

There is nothing quite like a brand new hereford baby. All sparkly and clean is there?? :cboy:

The third is by far the best. The first impressed me quite a bit when we weaned, but she sure isn't working for me now. We will see how she develops later on. The second was a May calf, and is quite a bit younger than the other 2. Performance wise she is pretty good, we will also see how she develops. I know we have had (and do have) cows that have looked as poor or poorer than the top 2 that have turned out to be pretty awesome cows.

I don't ever remember noticing that she had that bad of legs before. So, it may just be the way she is standing in the photo. Now, I am going to have to go out and have a look at her tomorrow, and see if it is true :D .

I agree that the third does look like a cross. She is a good heifer though. Looks a lot like her dam, and seems to have the same attitude ;-) .
