Herd Bull

This is our home grown Simmental Herd Bull. He is 5 yrs old and will be sold at the end of breeding season which is almost over. Looking for ideas on how to price him.

Hard to tell much in these pics but he looks like a large fella.

Yes the joy of cell phone pictures a near dark. He is around a 6 frame. My guess is 2000 lb. His sire is Triple C El Ponderosa Rey, his dam is by Nichols Legacy.

Why are you selling him?

No real market in my area, for a mature bull like that. Honestly, I'd say if you could get market plus $200 that would be outstanding.

Reason selling, a large portion of the herd is out of his grand dam. I have been using him to linebreed to increase her influence even more and have several linebred daughters.

I wish we were closer together, I'd like to run him for at least a season or two.

He sure does look over 2000 lbs. to me and that's in a little bity pic.
