We have a 30 acre field we lease out to a local farmer and he has cotton planted this year. This field has always been a problem field for weeds and grass. He sprayed it Tuesday and while I was checking cows yesterday I noticed the he had a good burn off on the weeds, and then I noticed that some of MY grass was turning yellow I snapped a picture just to document it. I tried to call him last night and finally got him this morning. He was very apologetic and willing to do whatever to make it right. I told him we would wait to see exactly how much was killed and how long I would have to keep the cows out of that area. I made sure he understood that the cows had 2 days grazing in these fields and any problems with my animals would be on him.

this is just one spot. I have another field on the east end that has about 900ft x 30ft strip is the same way.

You'll be fine. Don't make an issue out of nothing because your cows can just as easy mess up his stuff and he is your neighbor.

You don't mention what he was spraying with, but you should be fine.

liberty and roundup
Both non-selective, with Liberty getting anything resistant to glycosphate. IF, this is the type Liberty he was using, Liberty kills or controls the following grasses and weedy grasses:

M5 I have row crops and spray with that combo and have done that more times than I care to admit on my own pastures as well they are ok and liek grey said the grass will come back and havent lost any cattle yet.

Yea he said it was similar to paraquat or gramoxone with a quick kill. I was a little worried last night before I knew what it was because of how quick it killed everything. He also said they used no drift on everything.
