A friend let us borrow his old shaver. It needed some work broke welds and stuff and he had 2 new springs for it. When he bought it used the springs were already out of it. We fixed and painted it all up but are having trouble with springs they look to big, we got them hooked up to the bottom with the clips but cant figure out how they are going to hook to the top. The
place where you hook the clips that run thru the springs is on the opposite side of the cylinder. We have the springs laying on top of the cylinder. Any help would be great and no I dont know what model it is, it was noth ih ng but rust when we got it all you could see was shaver. I'm starting to the think the springs go between the channel that mounts to the 3 point hitch hookups and the actual large I beam that does the driving.
Pics of you have 1 of these would be great.

Download the shaver manual. Go to disassemble section and follow instructions untill you get to the springs.
Then go to the link at top.
My shaver is the hd12 springless. My recommendation on any shaver that has springs is to weld 100 pounds of wieght to the I beam and throw the dam springs away. Since it's a loaner might not work for you. I've pics of one modified somewhere. Im not gonna dig for em unless you want them. In that case I'd be glad to.

I found a picture that showed the springs has got the wrong ones. I'll order the right ones, and try it like that. If it needs weights I'll call and ask him if we can modify, I'm sure he wont care

Talked to the owner he said put the weight on it. It's all getting another part of paint then reassembled and test to see if it needs the springs after the weight was added
