So I decided to try and AI and breed on natural heat. Been using Estrotect patches for help. I AI'ed cow 20 days ago. She should have been in heat yesterday/today if she didn't stick. No sign at all yesterday until yesterday evening I noticed boss cow winding/trailing her a little. Slight attempt to mount. So I figured this morning there would be sign of heat. This morning nothing. Her patch is silver no riding. Gonna watch her today. So either she is bred or should be in heat. Don't want to miss her heat if she is open. What Yall think?

I've seen a lot of cows draw a little interest on their three-week return date. It's confusing for sure, but they're usually in calf. I watch like a hawk come six weeks, to make sure.

Yep. What Putangi said.
Had one heifer 3-4 year ago that was in full-standing heat 3 weeks out from AI service. Bred her again. She calved to the first service.

Thanks for the replies. Helps ease my worry of missing a heat. There was no other sign of heat. She was my first AI attempt so its awesome if it stuck. Especially after making some mistakes. I will likey pull a preg sample but gonna wait til it's time for the other two I am AI'ing.

sounds like maybe you got her settled. what day did you patch her? its not always on day 20 or 21, I dont get real comfortable till day 25 have rebred alot on day 23. I patch them at day 17 and watch till 25.

I stuck a patch on her Monday the 13th. The 17th was 19 days. These last three cows seem to hit the 19th day of their cycles. I started tracking their heats in May. The other two should be in heat one on the 22nd and 23rd this week. If all goes well I will have them stuck and be done with breeding this year.
