heifer having twins

Help Support CattleToday:

They sure will, why not? We've got a lovely set of little heifers at the moment. Each year we get a least one set of twins from the first calvers. One year a white charolais heifer had a set of twins by a black angus bull - one little heifer was black, the other was red as. I saw them born. Last year a shiny red santa heifer looked like she was yet to calve, but wanted to go back down the corner of the paddock. Followed her down, and she had a pair of little black bull calves there. Another time, a heifer calved in the holding paddock.....four hours later she had another very small but healthy calf.....hubby was going to dong it on the head, but it was so feisty and determined, he thought better of it. She reared them both and they grew up the same good size.

Thanks for the info, I`m new to raising cows , and was just wondering.
