7. Our 'teenager's' calf. It is as good as any of the other May calves.

good looking calf crop as usual, always nice to see working cattle in their working clothes on native pasture.

I don't know every picture i seen of the heifer she looks good. you still gonna part ways with her?

Well, she won't be going to a sale. We will be keeping her, but the 'plan' is for her to hit someone's dinner plate. But, who knows, I really like her, just that if she reproduces the double muscle she doesn't fit our program. They certainly aren't popular here, and I have no idea where we could market that type of animal.

Knersie, thanks, although, the pasture isn't really native, it is mostly tame grass (crested wheat).

Katy, thank you. She is a good calf, off a 2 year old too. It is nice to see the first calvers produce like that. When they do you know you are keeping good stock.

No, we have no market for a double muscled animal. There is a bit of a difference between a Limo and a Piedmontese(for example). And I don't know where there would be a market for double muscled animals. The problem with her is she is 'different' and 'different' means a dock at the sale barn. And I can guarantee that we would see a major dock on her, would likely sell at about the same price as any longhorn crosses that came through.
