I have a british white heifer who should be calving this week. On the 14 th the heifer was walking normally. Later in the week my cousin, who checks on my cattle when I am not there, said she was limping. I went to the ranch on Sunday and she was walking normally when i first checked her. A few hours later I checked her again and she was walking like she was weak in her back legs. An hour or two later she was walking normal again.
I thought I saw the calf inside her moving but the calf seemed to have been up closer to her spine.

Could the calf be pushing nerves in her back causing her to walk funny?

She walks fine and then a few hours later she walks funny again.

Calf pushing on or pinching something, happens a lot more often then you would think. Nothing to be concerned with, just one of those things.

 Seen it several times in my own herd. I have one like that now. As Dun and KT said no worries.

Had one like that last year. She limped for a week and quit when the calves legs were out about 6 inches.

i'd keep an eye on her just in case. ive seen cows carrying twins behave like that as well as cows that had upside down or upside down and backwards calves.

She had a bull calf. I am guesing he weighed about 65-70 lbs at birth. I didnt get to see him until he was about 3 weeks old and he was a big one maybe about 80-90 lbs them.

I finished calving my british white sired calves.
I ended up with 2 fullblood bull calves, 1 fullblood heifer, and 2 half british white half Fleckvieh simmental bull calves.

I really like the bull calves. They are pretty stout for only being 1 month old.

I will try and get some pics in the next week or two.
