Looks fine but couldn't it use some bacon. we won't have any maters turn for a couple weeks still but should have plenty when we do.

Here is some of the bounty I picked Saturday. Its salsa time.
3-Way do you have any Italian sauce recipes? I gotta make use of some of these things while I can.

Is that okra in the right front or some sort of pepper? We don't see much okra in WI. I am envious of your tomatoes. I have a lot of lettuce and spinach but no tomatoes for some time yet in Wisconsin. Paid a heavy price to buy one tomato at the store to slice into my salad. Those would bring a good price at the local farmers market. Congratulations on a good garden!

Yes, SRBeef its okra. Stuff is maddening. You have to cut/pick it every day or it will stop bearing but if you stay with it you'll have okra till frost. I have an assortment of peppers. Been making a lot of salsa and soups. It seems its feast or famine with the garden.
Jim, here is another one I doubt ya'll grow. These are cowpeas. Cream 40's. Have Crowder's, zippers and a couple others still to go.

We picked our first tomato the first of the week. I have to second the bacon thing cause that's what we made our sandwiches with. Dang they were good!
The wife had surgery on her wrist and I was down in my back for almost a month, so our main garden went to the weeds. After picking some squash and turnips I mowed it down. Got a friend that sells his fresh okra and squash so I'll have to hit him up. I think I'm getting to the point that buying from someone locally is less expensive and much easier than growing my own.

4 of our 12 tom plants now have blooms . . . . fresh maters are not in the immediate future.
Some of the local hay ranchers put in corn this spring -- rotation. Drive by several fields of corn each day; I'm guessing those little corn plants were nearing 3 inches tall today.

our mater plants are loaded down.an we got 3 or 4 red 1s this morning.but they are slow turning.

Making me hungry. Nothing better than fresh veggies. Well, meat aside.
Wish I could get veggies to grow in this sand but that isn't happening without some serious soil amendments.
