Hello all,

Neighbor offered me a good price to bale up some of his millet. Anybody ever done this? Need to worry about nitrate levels or anything when fed to cattle? Still looks a little on the green side. Best time to cut if going to hay?

Thanks.

I have been rolling a little and the cows love it. If in a drought and lots of N fertelizer you need to check nitrates.
Best time to cut is in the doe stage.
I am talking about brown top millet.

What is the "doe" stage?
