Just curious as to whether or not anyone is aware of a hay cover made specifically to cover hay that is stacked in a long single row. I have several of the silver hay tarps that I cover stacks with, but at one farm I don't have a loader tractor. I was looking for something made of the same material as the tarps but made specifically for a long row butted together, maybe 100 to 150 feet long. I have been using thick black plastic, but it's not very durable. Any ideas appreciated, thanks in advance.

There is a company in Kansas, I believe, that makes custom tarps - I don't their name, but I can find out if you're interested. They are pricey, and they are heavy, but they are very durable. Our biggest problem with tarps is that the wind around here whips them around, pulls out the grommets, and the hay rubs holes when they whip. They don't last even one summer, but these tarps are heavy enough that they will not whip in the wind, and they have absolutely no holes/punctures after 2 years of use, even with our infernal wind.

I found the used vinyl reinforced bilboard signs mentioned on previous theads. (Houston area)They are not made just for hay but do a great job.

That is what I have used on round bales. The vinyl is very durable and doesn't seem to succumb to sun degradation the way canvas does.
