Wow, i was 2.5 years old when he was killed. I only ever remember the movie obviously. Always wondered how much was actually true vs hollywood drama.

Got to Youtube and search " Tuff rides for Lane". You will see a clip from the movie, and Tuff's actual ride when he won NFR. And there is an interview with Tuff and Kelley, and they both say that the director, and Steve, Luke and Cynthia did a good job of portraying them and Lane accurately.
