Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the day and save lots of room for dessert! We are headed to my aunt's house after church. I'm bringing squash (of course), a new savory blue cheese dish, and Iowa wine and 100% Iowa grape juice that I sell in my store. Tomorrow we have hubby's side and I'm bring this two again and my first ever attempt at cheesecake, it'll be of the chocolate almond variety. What are you bringing or are you hosting?

Having most of the family over for dinner...bird has been in the oven for a couple of hours now and is looking good. Our son Neil has made pies with all the squash he grew this season and we processed the bird on Monday.

Dressed out at 45 lbs...lots of left-overs for the kids.

turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, turkey dumplings, turkey ice cream... That is a giant bird!!! Hope you put a good dent in it or you'll be sick of turkey soon!

Thank goodness for kids and relatives, one brest fed the whole lot with left-overs and Susie made four gallons of real meaty turkey rivel soup with the carcass and still have sandwitch meat for months. Almost hate to butcher the last one for Christmass when the rest of the family can come home for the holidays.
