Hair Loss from IM injections in neck?

Looks perfectly normal. Sometimes I put a little antibiotic cream on an injection site wound but it should heal on its own. And no, I would not switch to the butt. Bless your heart, you're doing everything you can for this calf! Wishing you the best of luck.
 
I would say that is from the Trimidox. It can be fairly irritating and you probably didn't get it buried deep enough in the muscle and it has caused some irritation to the skin. The neck muscle in a young calf is not a big target. The rump is a much bigger area but it may cause damage and if an abscess does form it is much more difficult to drain. With a young animal like that when giving daily injections it does not take long to run out of fresh places to inject.
