i need to find out what to feed the these heifers so they will keep growing. what kind of hay is the best hay besides alfalfa to feed these heifers. should i feed grain to these heifers. if so what kind of grain. all replies needed

A little grain wont hurt. Good hay, minerals. If you feed I would suggest your ration have more oats than corn or barley. Oats are to me a good combo of protein and fiber. Stay around 14% to 16 %.

Unless your pasture or hay is pretty poor quality I wouldn;t feed grain. If the hay/pasture is below roughly 13-14% a little grain wouldn;t hurt, the operative word being a little. You don't want a breeding heifer getting fat before she calves, just growing well.

I'd just keep em out in the pasture. I don't feed em anything special. They should grow well enough on good pasture. If the pasture is poor, then I'd supplement with a couple of pounds of corn per day per head.
