.... another bull this year with some cull cows for my beef customers. Bought him in as a 3 in 1 when he was a couple months old to get an old cow family. Thankfully his momma delivered me a heifer the next year. He is about 3. So tear him up, won't hurt me at all.

Is it Lent's breeding?
What approximate frame is it?
Thank you.

No he is not. The rest of my stuff is. He is between a 3.5-4. He is from a very small Anxiety herd with a few caveats.

a mighty wide head, I look for a bit more slender heads for calving ease, but looks good otherwise.

I bet he's worth a whole lot more now than when you bought him!

How many calves have you seen who's heads got hung up on the sides of the pelvic opening?

I can tell you that I have seen not one! I have seen many that the forehead hit the top of the pelvic opening causing various degrees of calving difficulty, though. One of those OWT that doesn't make any sense at all.

Your feeding program is working Ryan. It takes protein to grow that hair and he is on his way to a full winter coat. Did you use the soybean hulls?

Thanks, but I can't take any credit here. He was a fall calf so spent first winter on mom. Then got around 2 pounds of corn/oats in his yearling winter for about 4-5 months. Just pasture and winter hay the rest of the time.

NO soy hulls being fed here this winter. Too expensive. Just going to feed a couple pounds of corn/oats along with homegrown hay to growing bulls.
