I plan to purchase a grain drill that I will use for seeding hay fields. I have rented a brillon seeder in the past,but that will longer be available. Seems to be so many of kinds of drills..All seem to have grass seed compartments. Number of openings,spacings vary quite a bit. My question is,what would be the best type if the intended use was for hay only. Can you seed all types of hay seed with these drills. Since I rarely seed more than 20 acres a year,I didnt want to spend over $3500. I know the brillon seeders are designed for this type of work,but are out of my price range. Can these drills seed oats or barley along with grass seed in one application? Can you seed at different rates? Any help would be appreciated. Dan

I am looking at this brillon seeder.Seems to be a fair price. My question is,what is the weight of this machine? It does not have hydraulics. Need to know what I will need to unload this seeder. I have a loader on my tractor with a lift capacity of `1200. Also could use a skidloader with a lift of about 1750. Thanks Dan
