took a while, but got it seeded.. about 8 acres.. 50 lb/ac oats broadcast seeded, then harrowed in lightly, then brillion seeder with 150 lb Alfalfa, 30 lb DC red clover, and 10 lb Timothy went into it

Had the turf tires aired down to 3 PSI on the 165.. squat for traction but worked awesome for not leaving tracks

The two will need a wash after this dusty affair

I don't need no stinkin' GPS and autosteer to go straight!

Looks like a nice level field Nesi. What spacing do you plant the lucerne? You would have to be carefull not to go over the edge at the end of the field.

with that seeder it doesn't plant rows, just scatters the seed and then rolls it in.. I put about 15lb/ac of it in.

Takes a lot of work to get it level and smooth.. still haven't figured out how to get it perfect, but I'm getting better at it

It's kinda like the edge of the world... you aren't going to go over it very easily :)

Nicely worked up field! I have the same seeder. You need ear plugs pulling it over the rocky ground here.
OH YEAH.. pulling it along the road is like fingernails on a chalk board.

I pull it by the 3 pt hitch drawbar I made which makes it possible to do a 180 super fast... I tried going around and around but was impossible to get the corners to match nicely.. I'm happy with this.. I did take a video I just have to upload.. I'll post it today.

Here's why I use the MF165.. turns so tight you hardly have any headland to take care of, and you can just start at one end of the field and work your way to the other.. works far better than trying to go in circles.
My field is about 50 ft away from being parallel top and bottom, so I just overlapped a few inches on the narrow side each pass and it was perfect, I didn't have any funky crap to deal with at the top.. I do the same when haying too

Even though it's a bit of a pain to put the tires on it, I always do moving down the road. Along with the noise reduction it pulls a lot faster on rubber, too!

Alfalfa is germinating nicely.. we had a nice rain all night last night which saved me hours of changing irrigation pipes.. just enough to keep the top layer moist... couple days and the oats will be up too
