Got about an inch of snow here today through the morning. Sun is out now and snow is gone. Grass is gonna jump. May break 50 for a high tomorrow and into 60s by next week.

Looks nice Inyati! Fat cows on green pasture is a pretty site indeed! :D
Got plenty of grass here also, if we don't run out of water this summer. It will be close to 90 degrees this week.

14 has been such a late spring, still double taking when I'm looking at all the green finally, after what seemed to be our longest winter in quite some time.

Some days you almost want to try and hug the green stuff

Things here are *starting* to green up... the yard needs mowing, the willow is in bloom, as are the cherries, apricots are done, tulips, daffodils are out too, Rufus hummingbird is here too

1982vett, wish we could share some of the extra precip we have had this spring with you folks in drought areas. We really need sunshine and warmer temps here now more than anything.

My sister in town already mowed her lawn for the first time this week.

I wish we could save the deluges for times like this.....we really haven't had any long extended wet spells for quite some time. October was the "wet" month this past year and was timely. Got the oats and ryegrass up and growing and kept the freshly poured house slab wet.

Watering the yard for the second time this Spring. The areas I missed last time are right crispy. Most of the corn around here is knee high. Some got a good shower last week and looks pretty good. Leaves are rolling up on what didn't get any. Cool season grasses are well on their way out and warm season grasses are stressing for water. It has been cooler than usual which is helping a bit but it isn't looking good at all.

I hope this rain coming at the end of the week is as good as they are saying if not going to be pretty crappy around here

My guys started baling hay a few days ago. They plan to bale up everything they can get their hands on. Our hayfields look good and are making great weed free hay. But i'm not liking how the weather systems are coming through and petering out when they get to us. We are out of the drought line for the first time in years. But, that fear lingers.
So many people around us have gotten out of the cow business and now just want their land mowed, some have given the grass to my husband just to get the land maintained. There is one place that he'll get hundreds of bales off of for free on the first cutting. If we get rain, the other cuttings he gets for around 6 dollars a bale. I think its going to be another year where people get caught short of hay. We did have next winters hay stockpiled, but this last winter was so hard we ended up feeding some of it. So we do not have a year of hay stored now and this worries me.
