Next time you are this way, give Pam's Hateful Hussy Diner in Talihina a try.I don’t want sushi from anywhere, and something tells me thats especially so with the Tote a Poke in Oklahoma.
I would seriously recommend Ron’s Lumberjack Cafe in Heavener Oklahoma though. That’s one of my go to places for breakfast when we are in Le Flore County OK.
We would like to go there and then into the mountains on the North Carolina side We have friends originally from there in NC, that want us to see where they are from. I can’t think of the little town but it’s one that was affected so bad by the flooding a couple years ago.
Several years ago, my cousin was down in Sevierville sitting still in several lanes of traffic at a light and somebody turned across traffic and right into his truck.
With a name like that, it’s got to interesting, now whether or not I can convince my wife to try it will be a different story. I can hear the mother in law now saying oh my word. I’m sure my wife’s stepfather would have something funny to say about all.Next time you are this way, give Pam's Hateful Hussy Diner in Talihina a try.

In Camron that’s a little further North of Talihina there is a catfish house called the Barn I believe it is. That’s really good. I had forgotten about it. I worked as a iorn worker in Shady Point Oklahoma for a couple of years and used to go there. I had forgotten about it until this thread got started.Next time you are this way, give Pam's Hateful Hussy Diner in Talihina a try.
Well, scratch that. I just did a search and found out she closed last year. I had driven to Ada OK and stopped in for dinner. Had to be just a few weeks before she closed.Next time you are this way, give Pam's Hateful Hussy Diner in Talihina a try.
There is a restaurant in Lander called the Cowfish. I have never gone in there, so I have no idea what they serve.I am not stopping any where that has Catfish in the name. When we first moved here a man from church invited me to go with him fishing for catfish on the Snake River. I went several times. Caught lots of catfish. My wife declared our house a catfish free zone. I agreed. Growing up on the north Washington coast and work in SE Alaska I have eaten too many good fish to ever eat another catfish.
Did they ever reopen the gas station at the exit near you on the highway?A county bigger than the state of Delaware with only 16,000 people doesn't support much in the way of restaurants. It is common to have half mile between cars on the freeway. More out of state plates than Oregon drivers. They are just driving through. Some will stop for gas. Maybe stop at McD over by the freeway and then on the road again.
Yes they did a couple months ago. Nice to have gas close if you need it. But they are not shy about charging for things.Did they ever reopen the gas station at the exit near you on the highway?
It's been a dozen years since I have been through there. May not even be the right exit. It was a couple miles off the exit, on the corner next to the gas station. Had enough parking for my truck and trailer, nice place, good service. Did a real good business the few times I was there. I'll do some research.Do you remember the name of it?
