I picked up a book on Saturday by the late Colonel David Hackworth called Steel My Soldiers Hearts. I can't put it down. Excellent read for those who are interested in Vietnam war history. I recommend it highly even though it is through the authors eyes.

Did you ever read the book that was written by Chesty Pullers son about his experiences in Viet Nam. It's a very tough read.

No I haven't. I am an avid reader of all things Civil War, WW2 and Vietnam though. Allot can be learned reading about those times. It seems like Hackworth was one tough sob. Enlisted in the Army during the last days of WW2 at 15 years old (lied about his age), fought in Korea and also in Vietnam. Wounded 8 times throughout those three wars.
 
Darn, I wasn't aware that he had passed away. :frowns:
I've read a couple of his novels and liked them very much.
I haven't read them in a couple of years so I think it's time to reread them.
